The Distracted Preacher – 2010

New Hardy Players performance 2010

Our summer 2010 production was Thomas Hardy’s “The Distracted Preacher”. Director Tim Laycock added a musical twist to this Hardy romantic comedy, first adapted by the very talented Ray Sargent. This Hardy tale of romance and smuggling proved to even the most hardened sceptic that Hardy really did have a fine sense of humour.

“As with their previous productions, the New Hardy Players have put their heart and soul into this latest of their increasingly impressive repertoire.”

“With seagulls circling overhead for added effect, this was the New Hardy Players doing what they do best, bringing Hardy to line in a way we can all comprehend.”
